Meet the Austin Team Behind Tilehurst Roofing Austin

Every roof we work on in Austin gets the same thing: a crew that shows up when we said we would, does what we said we’d do, and leaves a written guarantee before we pull away. That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because the people on our trucks actually like roofing, respect your home, and answer to a standard that’s been in place since 2000. Greg Holloway built this team one hire at a time, looking for people who’d treat a roof in Barton Hills the same way they’d treat one in Buda or Round Rock.

Our People

Marcus T. – Lead Technician

Marcus has been on Austin roofs for 18 years, the last six of them with us. He’s GAF and CertainTeed certified, which means he’s passed the manufacturer’s own installation standards, not just ours. His specialty is steep-slope work on the older homes around Hyde Park and Tarrytown, where decking from the 1940s needs a careful hand before a single shingle goes down. If you hear someone on your roof explaining to an apprentice why the drip edge matters, that’s Marcus. Off the clock, he’s restoring a 1968 Ford pickup and will talk your ear off about it if you ask how it’s going.

Rosa V. – Senior Installer

Rosa handles the majority of our full replacements across Travis and northern Hays counties. She’s Owens Corning and IKO certified and has a reputation on the crew for the cleanest ridge cap work in the company. Rosa’s the one who walks the roof with you after the job and points out exactly what was replaced, in plain English, before she hands over the written guarantee. She started with Tilehurst eight years ago as an apprentice and now leads her own crew. Her neighbors in Cedar Park joke that she’s the only person they know who gets excited about flashing details.

Elena S. – Service Coordinator

Elena is the person you’ll speak with when you call for a repair or replacement estimate. She’s been answering our phones for four years and has an encyclopedic memory for which neighborhoods need storm checks after a big system rolls through. Elena schedules the crew, confirms the arrival window, and makes sure every written price is in your hands before the truck shows up. She grew up in East Austin and knows the local roofing codes well enough to answer most permit questions on the spot. When she’s not coordinating schedules, she’s coaching her daughter’s soccer team at Zilker Park.

Danny R. – Apprentice Installer

Danny joined us two years ago with no roofing experience and a reference from his uncle who worked with Greg on a job in Pflugerville. He’s now two manufacturer certifications deep and spends most days on the crew with Marcus, learning the trade the slow, correct way. Danny’s the one you’ll see hauling old shingles to the trailer and magnet-sweeping the driveway for nails after the job’s done. He’s also the reason the crew cooler always has cold water and why the jobsite is cleaner when we leave than when we arrived. There’s no shortcut in his training, and that’s exactly how Greg wants it.

One Standard, Every Job

The Kingswell Way isn’t a poster in the office. It’s five rules that the Austin crew follows on every single job, whether it’s a flashing repair in Mueller or a full replacement in Lakeway. First, say the price before the work starts, in writing, every time. Second, show up in the window we gave you, not a four-hour spread. Third, leave the place cleaner than we found it. Fourth, put the guarantee in writing and hand it over before the crew leaves the driveway. Fifth, if a repair fails inside the guarantee period, we come back at no charge, no argument, no “we’ll see.” Every member of this team, from Marcus on a roof at 2 p.m. to Elena answering a call at 10 p.m., operates under those rules. A live person answers our phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, because a roof problem on a Sunday night in Austin doesn’t care about business hours.

That’s the standard Greg Holloway set when he opened this location, and it’s the same standard every Tilehurst Roofing location upholds. The team in Austin is independent, local, and accountable to the same written guarantees as every other Kingswell family company. No franchise hand-waving. Just the same five rules, the same seven manufacturers to choose from – GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning, IKO, Atlas, Tamko, and Boral – and the same promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right.
