Owens Corning Gutter Replacement: The Austin Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Owens Corning-compatible gutter replacement parts across Austin, with most full gutter runs priced between $14 and $22 per linear foot installed, depending on the profile and total footage. Most Owens Corning gutter replacements in Austin are completed in a single visit, and we carry the common profiles on the truck. You usually discover a gutter problem the hard way: a steady drip against the house during a spring thunderstorm, a sag, or a section that pulled away from the fascia after a windy week. The good news is that matching an Owens Corning gutter to an existing run is straightforward when you know what to look for. Tilehurst Roofing Austin is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with Owens Corning.
Which Owens Corning Models This Applies To
Owens Corning gutters sold in Texas are typically 5-inch K-style or 6-inch half-round profiles, in standard 10-foot sections. The difference matters. K-style has a flat back and a decorative front that mimics crown molding; half-round is a true semicircle. They are not interchangeable at the hanger level, and mixing them mid-run looks wrong from the street. The surest way to identify what you’ve got is to check the stamped manufacturer’s mark on the inside of a downspout or end cap, or measure the top opening across. Five inches is the residential workhorse in Central Texas. Six-inch runs are usually found on larger roofs or homes with steep pitches that dump a lot of water at once. OEM Owens Corning sections are fine, but the aftermarket aluminum equivalents we install carry the same gauge and baked-enamel finish, often at a better price point. If you’re replacing three sections or fewer, OEM matching is rarely worth the premium. If you’re replacing a whole run, aftermarket from the same spec is the smarter money. And if you’re in an older Austin neighborhood like Allandale or Crestview, expect to find 5-inch K-style on nearly every original build.

Signs Your Owens Corning Gutter Replacement Is Failing
- Sagging or pulling away from the fascia. Hangers fail before gutter metal does. In Austin’s heat, the expansion and contraction cycle works screws loose over three to five years, and sections start to dip or bow.
- Water spilling over the front edge during a downpour. This usually means the slope is gone, a joint has separated, or the downspout is clogged. The gutter can be full of debris and still look fine from the ground.
- Visible rust streaks or pinholes at the bottom corners. Water sits in low spots and the enamel eventually surrenders. Aluminum doesn’t rust, but it will corrode when leaves and dirt hold moisture against it season after season.
- Separated seams at the miters or end caps. The corners take the most hydraulic pressure in a storm. Once a miter starts leaking, tightening won’t fix it; the whole corner needs to come out and be resealed or replaced.
- Water pooling near the foundation or staining on the fascia board. The gutter failed its only job. In Austin’s clay soil, this is how you end up with a foundation crack that costs ten times what a gutter replacement would have.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Installed Owens Corning-compatible gutter replacement in Austin runs $14 to $22 per linear foot for standard 5-inch aluminum. A typical single-story home with 160 linear feet of gutter lands between $2,240 and $3,520. Here’s what drives the range:
- Profile and gauge: 6-inch or heavy-gauge sections run toward the top of the range.
- Access and height: Two-story runs require more ladder work and slower installs.
- Fascia condition: If the wood behind the gutter is soft from years of overflow, that has to be replaced before the new sections go up.
Every quote includes removal and haul-off of the old sections, new hangers, new end caps, new downspout connections, and sealed miters. The price we hand you is written, and it includes everything. No change orders at the door. And like every repair we do, it’s covered by our written guarantee, with a full year of accountability under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. Greg Holloway is known around town for giving a straight number before a single nail comes out of the bag. Tell him the roof, he’ll tell you the price. No surprises once we’re up there.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely inspect your gutters from the ground. Look for sag, separation, and overflow. If you’re comfortable on a ladder with a stable base, clearing debris and checking hanger spacing is reasonable homeowner work. Where DIY goes wrong is resealing miters, re-sloping a run, or hanging new sections. A gutter that’s off by a quarter inch over ten feet looks fine until the first big Austin storm, and then the water misses the downspout entirely. Working from a ladder while handling ten-foot metal sections on a two-story home is also a good way to visit an urgent care. If the run is more than a few sections, or any part of it is above the first story, call us at (254) 540-7345. We’ll come out, take measurements, and give you a written price. The estimate is free, and a real person answers when you call.
FAQs
Realistically, 15 to 20 years in Central Texas, though the hangers and seals tend to need attention around year 8 to 10. Austin’s summer heat and the sudden downpours of spring thunderstorm season put real stress on the system. Western-facing runs, which bake in afternoon sun, usually degrade first.
Sometimes, yes. A separated seam or a loose hanger is repairable if the metal is still sound. If the section is dented, corroded, or bowed, replacement is the honest call. We’ll tell you which one you actually need, and the price won’t change once we start.
Most single-story Austin homes are done in one day. Two-story homes or runs with extensive fascia repair may stretch to a day and a half. We set the appointment window, we show up in it, and we leave the property cleaner than we found it. That’s The Kingswell Way.
We carry 5-inch and 6-inch aluminum sections, hangers, end caps, and downspout components on our trucks, and they’re compatible with Owens Corning spec. Standard white and off-white runs are typically stocked. Custom colors may take a few days to source. We also work with gutter brands from GAF and CertainTeed when that’s the better match for an existing run. Call (254) 540-7345 for an exact quote; estimates are free.
